Friday Note

Hello from hot &´sticky´ Bermejo!

Our missions trip is now well underway and having done some cultural & "touristy" things, in the past few days we have been entering fully into meeting with our Bolivian brothers & sisters. It was been very good. They are so friendly and warm towards us.

Two days ago we had a ´men with men & women with women´Bible study in Tarija and tonight we will do the same in Bermejo. We expect it will be just as rich a time. It is so moving to have the opportunity to talk about our faith & to have them talk about their faith as well. And then to hear them pray for us is a rich experience to have.

Yesterday was a long hot ride to Bermejo from Traija and today it is stickY & hot.

We are pleased to be here & glad to know that we will spend a number of days here& in that way get to know some of the people better. They are so warm & welcoming that it is quite moving. In the midst of all the cultural differences we clearly sense that bong links together.

Thanks for all those who are praying & have prayed for us. We are pleased to be your representatives here.

Adios.

Pastor Henry

It's been great following your blogs...the pics are helping me re-live the first STEP trip. My prayers are with you all...please pass my greetings on to Emigdio and Ivan.

I'm enjoying following along - wonderful to see the photos! It makes it easier to picture where you are and what you are doing.

Say hello to Ivan for me as well - we were together last year in Kenya.

Hello to H and Wayno and company,

SO GOOD to see your pics from Bolivia and hear of sightseeing and interactions with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Please be assured of our continuing prayers on your behalf as you minister and travel in HIS Name.

Best Regards,
DALE.

How is the Spanish going, Henry and Dustin? Greetings to Ivan and Emigdio from me too...and, like Karen, I wish I could be there too. I'm very thankful I had the opportunity to go the first time and can imagine some of what you are experiencing.

Hot and sticky, sticky and hot...sounds like a pastry...hope you are enjoying the food this time too!

Hi Dono,
I love that you're down there doing the Lord's work. In fact, I saw you in the picture wearing the black shirt. It was clear you were supervising just by your stance. I'm not sure who you were supervising because everyone was behind you, but hey, I don't have anywhere near your commitment, so who am I to comment?

While you were away, Pastor Simpson preached "The Holy Spirit Unleashed." It was the kind of sermon that he could only preach if you were away. Anyway, there was lots on speaking in tongues and dancing in the aisles. It was quite the service. I felt right at home. Flags waving, people getting slain in the Spirit. I think that was Benny Hinn that showed up, but I couldn't quite make out his face from the glint of gold teeth that were appearing in peoples' mouths...

Anyway, family supper isn't the same without you. Ellie has been serving food as if you were still there, and not removing it until it's eaten. It's been a few weeks now, and I've never seen mold quite look like that before. There's lots of crumbs on the table because your ever-full plate is always there and they can't change the tablecloth.

In better news, they found that all-day steaming coffee cup like in that beer commercial where the guy goes golfing. It's only starting to lose its steam now... I think you could really use this in your government job.

Anyway, God bless you. You are one of a kind, and facebook isn't nearly as witty in your absence because I guess you don't have time to waste right now.

How's that sauna diet going? I can't figure out why they don't let you wear shorts. I think they made up all that stuff about shorts being socially unacceptable. Right now, someone is talking to his friend in Spanish laughing at the melting gringos as we speak. You should have seen the witch in Wizard of Oz before you left. You would have known just how to say, "I'm MELTINGGGGG" as you sunk into the pavement of that church building and nothing was left but your clothes.

Of course, only then would they have realized that they were left behind in the rapture and you were the only true saint among them.

Oh well, God bless you. Aliyah still mentions your name in prayer every night, right before Zonk and Cronk. Bye!
