Here it is less than 3 months until STEP Team Two leaves for Bolivia. My the time is slipping by quickly and partly because there is so much we are doing to prepare. We have had 3 very good team meetings including an "orientation" session with Dennis Shierman from Canadian Baptist Ministries in Calgary. He did a great job of not only telling us important things to remember but reminding us how important it is for the Bolivian Christians that we go to see them and affirm them.
The big thing on our agenda this week is the Fundraising Banquet on Sunday night. Would you believe it, we have sold 120 tickets so far! I'm sure it will be a great evening what with a Spanish singing group, a special speaker from Caronport and some sharing from a couple of team members. And not to forget a great meal!
As the team leader and as someone who went to Bolivia with STEP Team One, I am very pleased with the way this team is coming together and the way the church community is showing their support for us. We are eager to see God at work both in the time of preparation that lies ahead and in the time we will have with our Bolivian brothers & sisters in Southern Bolivia. Please pray that we as a team will have the eyes to see what God is doing and the heart to give thanks and participate where we can.
